DIY wine labels are the perfect way to customize and personalize gifts for everyone to love. From engagement party presents and bridal shower gifts to wedding favors and bachelorette party goodies, wine labels are always a fan-favorite.

Now that you’ve decided to gift a bottle of wine, you’ll need to know the “how-to” steps to create your own DIY wine label. Follow the below process when adding DIY labels to bottles of wine:

Step 1:
Buy your favorite wine.

Step 2:
Purchase, download and edit your wine labels from Bliss Paper Boutique. For further instructions on editing your template, please watch our YouTube video “How To Edit Your PDF Printable.” You can watch it here.

Step 3:
Remove the manufacturer’s label from the bottle of wine.

  • Soak the bottle of wine in warm water for 30 minutes.
  • Once the bottle has soaked for the required time, remove it from the water and gently remove the label. (If it does not easily come off, let the bottle soak a bit more.)
  • Use Goo-Gone and a razor blade to remove any excess adhesive to create a flat and smooth surface.

Step 4:
Let the bottle of wine dry.

  • Dry off the wine bottle(s) and let sit for 30 minutes (this drying period is essential as it helps prevent warping of the new label).

Step 5:
Adhere custom wine label.

  • Option A:
    • Print wine labels on full-page sticker paper.
    • Trim the labels down to size using the crop marks.
    • Peel away the wine label and center the label over the bottle using the seam on the bottle as a guide.
      • TIP: Lay the bottle flat between your legs so the bottle stays in position.
    • Apply it to the front of the bottle, making sure to rub out any creases using firm pressure.
  • Option B:
    • Print the wine labels on full-page card stock.
    • Trim the labels down to size using the crop marks.
    • Apply double sided tape to the backside of the label.
    • Center the label over the bottle using the seam on the bottle as a guide.
    • Apply it to the front of the bottle.

Step 6:
Give the perfect gift
